New Zealand Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse Tour


Join our select team traveling to New Zealand to represent the USA in the Asia Pacific games hosted by New Zealand Lacrosse. AIST has received an invitation to participate in the ASPAC lacrosse tournament. This tournament will be invitating teams from Japan, Europe, UK, Australia, China and other countries around the world. AIST is looking to find top Collegiate players under the age of 24 to represent the USA in this opportunity.

Day Event
1 Depart Los Angeles, CA for Auckland, New Zealand.
2 You lose this day when we cross the International dateline. Don’t worry, you will get that day back when you return.
3 Haere Mai – Welcome to New Zealand, the youngest country on earth. Your Tour Time Director will meet you at Auckland’s International Airport. This is the largest city in New Zealand with many of the country’s leading provincial hockey teams based in its regional area. The Auckland region is an antipasto of environments laid out on a huge platter to make one amazing city, boasting three harbours, two mountain ranges, 48 volcanic cones and more than 50 islands. Auckland’s population is approximately 1.3 million, making it by far the largest city in New Zealand, with one third of the country’s entire population.After passing through customs we transfer to your accommodation by touring coach, the rest of the day is yours to relax and acclimatise.
4 Auckland is also known as the City of Sails, with a spectacular array of sailing and motor boats to be seen in and around the Waitemata Harbour. This morning we take in the sights of the city on a tour that includes the Auckland Harbour Bridge, Central Business District, University, Domain Gardens and the city’s waterfront. We also take a look at the expensive residential areas of our local rich and famous then travel through some trendy shopping and dining areas.Highly recommended is an optional visit to Sky Tower for 360° views of Auckland. The Sky Tower is the tallest building in New Zealand.You may also like to consider an optional visit to Kelly Tarlton’s Underwater World.

11 There are many optional activities such as viewing Te Puia Thermal Wonderland with its boiling mud pools and geysers and the NZ Maori Arts & Crafts Centre where Maoris are carving just like their ancestors did. We explore the natural wonders of Rotorua. The interactive Agrodome Sheep Show is worth a visit to get an understanding of New Zealand sheep farming. Kaitiaki White water rafting is an optional extra for excitement and adrenalin.This evening relax in the Polynesian Thermal Hot Pools. These natural mineral pools do wonders for tired and bruised bodies.
12 Today you have the option of travelling to the ski fields to enjoy a day’s skiing or snow -boarding on the mountain. En route to Taupo we stop at the Waiotapu mud Pool. Marvel at the sheer beauty of the artist’s palette of colours produced by the thermal activity in this area. On our descent into Taupo we stop to see the mighty Huka Falls with optional jet boat rides. Continuing south, we journey alongside New Zealand’s largest freshwater lake, Lake Taupo before entering New Zealand’s oldest national park, Tongariro with its World Heritage status. New Zealand’s world renowned film Director Peter Jackson chose Tongariro as a major filming site for the shooting of the Lord of the Rings. Mt Doom is here in the magnificent volcano shape of Mt Ngauruhoe. We spend time at either Mt Ruapehu or Whakapapa enjoying the snow, before returning early evening to Rotorua.
13 Today we return by coach to Auckland where it is time to say “Haera Ra” (farewell) from your Travel Director and the AIST team in New Zealand.Depending on flight departure times there may be an opportunity for last minute shopping or sightseeing in Auckland’s Central area.We trust that your time and experiences with us have been Like Never Before and American International Sports Teams wish you a safe journey home.
