Ireland and England Men’s Rugby Tour


This tour will take you on a fascinating adventure through the beautiful country sides of Ireland and England. With stops in Dublin, Manchester and London you will be able to see top sights and experience to different cultures in one great trip. Competition here is very good and the clubs of these countries welcome the opportunity to participate in friendly games vs. the USA. There will be plenty of free time to relax and enjoy this trip as well as an intense sight seeing package with guided tours and excursions included. Two meals per day are include and round trip airfare from New York.

July 13-23, 2008 – 11 day tour
Tentative Itinerary

Day Event
1 Depart from the USA on your overnight flight to Dublin, Ireland.
2 Upon arrival we will check into Oliver St. John Gogarty’s hostel, where you will be accommodated for the next 2 nights on a B&B basis. Enjoy an afternoon visit to Trinity College and the “Book of Kells” with a possible visit to the Guinness Brewery*, should your taste buds fancy it.
3 After breakfast, enjoy a guided morning tour of Dublin before transferring in the afternoon to: Match 2 -v- Local Opposition (Irish). Post-match refreshments will follow the game and afterwards, you will be returned to your accommodation to prepare for your last night on the Emerald Isle.
4 After a very early breakfast, board your coach for your transfer to the Dun Laoghaire ferry port and your high speed ferry crossing to Holyhead on the UK mainland. From here, transfer to the English city of Manchester and the local Youth Hostel, for 3 further nights of your tour on a B&B basis.
5 After breakfast, enjoy a free morning exploring the city of Chester before transferring in the afternoon to your: Match 3 -v- Local Opposition. Post-match refreshments will follow the game and afterwards, you will be returned to your accommodation.
6 After breakfast, enjoy a free morning exploring the city of Manchester (including a possible trip to the home of the Red Devils, Manchester United Football*) before transferring in the afternoon to: Match 4 -v- Local Opposition. Post-match refreshments will follow the game and afterwards, you will be returned to your accommodation.
7 After breakfast you we will take a walking tour of the great city of Manchester. There are lots of opportunities to discover the City’s secret corners with a wide range of tours by foot, boat or bus available. Evening to free to explore the nightlife of Manchester.
8 After a very early breakfast, check out of your accommodation and transfer south to the city of London. Checkin the local University Halls of Residence, on a B&B basis. Enjoy an afternoon’s guided tour of the capital including all the major sights, as well as an entrance to the Tower of London. Tonight, you have the opportunity to see a West End Show* should your time and budget permit.
9 Enjoy a free day exploring London on your own. Take this opportunity to explore Buckingham Palace or the Parliment. It’s your last day in England to enjoy as you please.
10 After breakfast, check out of your accommodation and enjoy a final free morning in London including a quick ride on the London Eye. Following this, transfer to your London airport for the return flight to the USA.

Other costs incurred will depend on each individual’s spending habits. Connecting airfare to departure city, souvenirs, some meals and any personal expenses will not be covered by American International Sports Teams.
