Dominican Republic AIST High School Select Team Tour 2012
Join us in the Dominican Republic to play against local Dominican Players and Possibly other countries as we set up an international tournament for High School and Youth players. We also will have a training session at the MLB Dominican Summer league facilities where many young Dominicans train to become professionals. Some of the top DSL coaches, who have played professionally in the past, will provide a private instruction and help you raise your game to the next level. This is a great way to see how baseball truly is a part of life. Kids in the DR use baseball as there way out of the country and you get the opportunity to experience it first hand. You’ll be able to enjoy the beach right outside your hotel room at the 4 star all inclusive hotel throughout the week. This is by far the best valued tour AIST has to offer. It will be great competition vs. future MLB players as well as good food, comfortable accommodations and amazing sightseeing excursions.

| 3 | Game times TBA. Enjoy the beach or enjoy the schedule sightseeing tour. |
| 4 | The morning will be free for you to explore on your own. In the afternoon we will hold a sports clinic as way to show our appreciation for arranging the tournaments for our teams, or we may provide a community service to a nearby town to help improve their facilities. You may want to bring some of your old gloves and equipment to give away. These kids are very poor and anything you can give them they will be grateful for! This will be a great opportunity for you to directly interact with the local people and experience their lifestyle. It’s incredible to see the joy on the kids faces for the opportunity to work with US athletes. They are so eager to learn the game. |
| 5 | Today we will take a city tour of Santo Domingo. Discover the oldest city in the New World, founded by the Conquistadors in 1496. See the Cathedral of Santa Maria la Menor, the first in the Americas, where the remains of Christopher Columbus are buried. Visit Columbus’ Alcazar, a beautiful palace built for Diego, the son of the discoverer, where you can admire the elegant lifestyle of colonial times. Close by is the Atarazana, a lovely and picturesque street typical of the XVI century, which now houses gift shops, boutiques and Art Galleries and where we will stop briefly for refreshments. Our tour continues through the most important churches, buildings and parks of this colonial town, once ransacked by pirates and recently restored to its past glory. |
| 6 | Enjoy your last day relaxing on the beach outside our resort hotel. The magnificent beach boasts turquoise water and a glorious view. Try one of the beach activities including snorkeling, paddle boat, banana boat, scuba lessons, sailing or other activities included. |
