Holland High School Baseball Tournament 2010


The Robur 58′ baseball and softball series is an annual tournament that AIST will compete in every year. This tournament is held in Apeldoorn Holland which is about 1.5 hours drive from Amsterdam. We will spend a few days exploring Amsterdam including the Anne Frank house and a canal tour. We will also arrange an exhibition game prior to the tournament. The tournament draws teams from Belgium, Czech Republic, Russia, Germany and local club teams from Holland. It is very well organized tournament and there are several activities that are added to the tournament to make it a great social event. This includes a great opening and closing ceremony, BBQ for all teams, karaoke night, disco night and awards for top performers in the tournament. July 13-23, 2010 – 11 day tour
Tentative Itinerary

Day Event
1 Depart Gateway Airport to Amsterdam with other team members and coaches.
2 Arrive in Amsterdam in the morning and depart for Rotterdam Wooden Shoe Factory, visit Zaanseschans whereyouwillfindwindmills, a cheese factory and a small village typical of Dutch heritage. After lunch, we will check into hotel in Volendam. Free time to explore.
3 Depart for Amsterdam. Today will have a canal tour through the heart of Amsterdam, a self guided tour of the Ann Frank House and then some time in the city to explore on your own.Free day in Amsterdam. Shop the city for Souvenirs. Optional tours of Heineken Brewery, Van Gogh or Rijks Museums. Possible practice game in the evening against local team.
4 Depart for Apeldoorn. Robur 58′ Tournament Begins.
5 Tournament Continues. Tour of Apenhuel (Monkey Hill) in Apledoorn. Spend the day exploring many different types of monkeys running free at this zoo. Apenhuel is home to one of the largest captive Gorilla families in the world.
6 Tournament Continues. Tourof Palace Het Loo. Palace Het Loo reflects the historical ties between the House of Orange-Nassau and the Netherlands. The central part of the palace and the lateral pavilions show how the palace was inhabited by the House of Orange for three centuries starting with the King Stadtholder William III up to and including Queen Wilhelmina. Evening free to explore the city of Apeldoorn.Karaoke Party for all teams.
7 Tournament Continues. Disco at the club with other teams from the tournament.
8 Closing Ceremonies of tournament including awards for outstanding play and trophies for top finishes. Free evening.
9 Early departure for Antwerp Belgium. Guided tour of the city and free time to explore on your own.
10 Today will be a trip to Brussels to explore on your own. Return to Antwerp for Overnight and farewell dinner.
11 DepartBrussels for returning flight to USA.

Other costs incurred will depend on each individual’s spending habits. Connecting airfare to departure city, souvenirs, some meals and any personal expenses will not be covered by American International Sports Teams.
