Holland Women’s Volleyball Tour


This tour will lead you through Amsterdam, Holland for some great sightseeing and quality Volleyball competition. A canal tour will give you an overview of this exciting city. We will also have a trip to the Anne Frank house and the opportunity to visit a few other museums. Then it’s on to Groningen, Holland to participatein the DKV Volleyball tournament. This isa tournament put on by Universities around the Holland Area and draws teams from Germany as well. Round trip airfare from the New York area, breakfast and some dinners are included in this tour. Other inclusions are listed below.

Tentative Itinerary

Day Event
1 Depart USA for Amsterdam.
2 Arrive in Amsterdam in the morning and depart for Rotterman Wooden Shoe Factory. Visit Zaanseschans where you will find traditional windmills, a cheese factory and a small village. Check into hotel in Volendam. Volendam is small fishing village on the coast near the North Sea. Free time to explore Volendam on your own. Dinner at local restaurant.
3 Depart for Amsterdam. Today we will take a canal tour and visit the Ann Frank House. After lunch, you will have few hours to do some shopping in the city. In the evening, exhibition Game 1 vs. Local club team. We return to Volendam for overnight after game.
4 Free day in Amsterdam. Shop the city for Souvenirs. Optional tours of Heineken Brewery, Van Gogh or Rijks Museums. In the afternoon, we depart for exhibition game 2 vs. local club team. Return to Volendam for overnight.
5 Depart for Groningen, Holland for start of the DKV Volleyball tournament. Check-in to Hotel and evening free to explore new surroundings.
6 After breakfast, the DKV tournament continues all day.
7 After breakfast, finals of tournament and closing ceremonies. In the evening depart for return to Amsterdam.
8 Day trip to Den Haag. The Hague is a melting pot of dozens of different people and cultures, and the city is proud of its cultural diversity. The gigantic open-air market the “Haagse Mart” is famous not only because of the fact that it is a reflection of this colourful society, but also because it offers fresh food from all corners of the world for little or no money at all.
9 Enjoy your last day in Holland in the city of Amsterdam. Optional tours of one of the many museums or enjoy the afternoon at one of the thousands of restaurants.
10 DepartAmsterdam Airport for returning flight home.
