Fans, Friends and Family

Fans, Friends and Family are welcome to join your tour.  We have options for them to join your group through out the tour or keeping a separate package where they will have their own bus and tours separate from the team.

We can provide a fan package with cost which will allow the group to have their own tours and transportation and in some cases we can keep them in separate hotels away from the team if that is your preference.

Keep in mind that these tours are catered to the athletes and we will schedule everything around the games and the teams needs.

We encourage the support of friends and family and it can help to bring the overall cost down for the team based on the size of the group.

Cost for Fans, Friends and Family

A cost will be quoted for fans, friends and family depending on the tour or group.  Cost is based on group size and room sizes.

Room Sizes

Room sizes are subject to availability.  It will be up to coaches if they will allow players to room with family.  Room sizes are billed per person not per room.  Single rooms will require additional fees than double or triple rooms.  In some cases 4 in a room is a possibility but this is very rare in most European cities.  It will depend on the accommodations selected.

For additional information on friends and family traveling go to: www.aist.us/ff-travel

Special arrangements can be made for you to meet the group if you do not want to stay for the entire trip. If you have interest in joining our group please call 816.256.3828 or email us at info@aist.us to confirm we have availability.

AIST recommends that all travelers purchase a travel protection plan to help protect themselves and their trip investment. Travel protection plans can provide coverage for trip cancellation, trip interruption, emergency medical expenses and emergency evacuation/repatriation, trip delay, baggage delay, and more. With sports, you are subject to injury which could force you to cancel your tour. Having travel insurance is one way to protect your investment.

AIST has a very strict cancellation policy and refunds are difficult to come by. We do the best we can to help but we encourage you to look into purchasing travel insurance.

*AIST does not sell insurance and is no way affiliated with any insurance claims. Claims will need to be made directly with the company you purchase the insurance through.

Frequently Asked Questions

What other costs should I be aware of?

We do our best make sure everyone knows what they will spend on tour. Our packages are all inclusive with the exception of the following:

Connecting Airfare – If you require a flight to get to our gateway city for departure – The gateway airport will usually be a nearby airport selected by the group.

Airline Fuel Surcharges – This fee is imposed by the airlines if fuel prices are higher at the time of ticketing 2-3 months prior to departure (it can be anywhere from $0 – $200 depending on the airline and fuel prices)

Additional Sightseeing – There may be some entrance fees to additional sightseeing options not included on your itinerary

Tip Money and Additional Spending Money – It’s important to bring tip money for your bus drivers and tour guides, about $20-30 in total for an 11 day tour. We recommend bringing an additional $35-$45 per day to cover additional expenses on most tours

Personal Travel Insurance – We recommend purchasing travel insurance as it is not included in the tour.  Find out more about travel insurance at www.aist.us/travel-insuranceAIST does not sell personal travel insurance.

How many games or practices do you recommend?

For a 10 day tour we would recommend 0-1 practices and 2-3 games.  If you over do the games and the practices you’ll find that the group will not benefit as much from the tour experience and learning about each other.  NCAA rules allows 10 additional practices prior to your departure.  We would recommend taking advantage of that time for practices and enjoy the sites and excursions with your team while traveling abroad.  2-3 games is typically a good amount but if you would prefer more we can make it happen.

Terms and Conditions

Please review the Terms and Conditions. You must agree to these terms and conditions before you can travel.

It’s very important that you understand the cancellation policy. We have to follow a very strict cancellation policy due to the contracts with our suppliers. In addition, it’s important that we keep the team together by recruiting players who will stand by their commitment to represent the USA with an AIST team.

Cancellation/Refund Policy:

The initial deposit at time of registration is non-refundable unless otherwise stated. There are no exceptions for the cancellation fee. Please make sure you understand the commitment you are making prior to putting in your deposit.

A cancellation fee equal to 50% of the total trip cost (land and air) will be assessed for cancellations between 130 and 110 days prior to departure. A cancellation fee equal to 75% of the total trip cost (land and air) will be assessed for cancellations between 109 and 60 days prior to departure. Cancellations made within 59 days of departure will receive no refund. All cancellations must be confirmed by e-mail to AIST at info@aist.us. AIST will do their best to eliminate cancellation fees when possible however, this is dependent upon our suppliers and the timing of your cancellation of the tour.

We recommend trip insurance.

If AIST cancels a tour due to lack of interest, all passengers will receive a full refund for money received.

Airline Tickets:

All airline tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. We must have correct and legal spelling of participant’s name as it reads on his or her passport. Responsibility for accuracy of the information given lies within the participant. Any name changes will incur a change fee of $350.
