Friends and Family are always welcome to join our select team tours. The inclusions for friends and family members would be the same with exception of the uniforms and playing time of course. They will be on the bus and included in all the activities and meals the athletes are receiving. We can provide a first class tour with the group and you won’t have to worry about where to stay, how to get around or the best places to see. We will have a complete tour set up for you with a full time guide to help you get around. You’ll also have the flexibility to do your own thing if that’s what you prefer. You’ll have the option of rooming with the athlete you are traveling with or private accommodations for yourself (additional fees for private accommodations).
Most of our tours will be accommodated in 3 Star Superior and 4 star hotels based on European standards. Some tours are accommodated in University or Hostel accommodations (Mostly UK Tours). You will always have a private room with your friends and family with private facilities but the accommodations may be on a lower standard than you may be accustom to. You can enjoy the experience of travel with the team or we can upgrade you on the tours with these types of accommodations for a surcharge of $50 per person, per night.
Most of our tours will have walking tours that require good fitness and mobility. If you require special assistance or do not think you are capable of keeping up with the group, please let us know in advance and we will accommodate you the best we can.
AIST will have seats blocked for a limited number of people. Once those seats are gone we will no longer have the same fare or price guarantee. If you would like to book your trip with the group flight you will need to make a deposit that is non-refundable to reserve your seat. Please confirm with AIST in advance to make sure we still have seats available. You are more than welcome to book your own flights to meet the group abroad.
Can’t make it for the whole tour? No problem, you can book your own flight to meet the team when it’s convenient for you. Please confirm with AIST that the trip is confirmed and where we will be on your arrival. We will quote you a ground package for the length of your stay.
Keep in mind that our tours are catered to the athletes and we will schedule everything around the games and tournaments as needed. We encourage the support and will do our best to make it an exciting trip for everyone involved.
The cost of our AIST select team tours is the same as the athlete you are traveling with as long as you are in a double or triple room. If you require a single room (1 person in the room) an additional cost will be applied.
A discount is available for friends and family who register and deposit before November 1 of the year prior to your departure. The discount is $250 off the cost of any AIST select team tour traveling to Europe destinations. Discount does not apply to Dominican Republic or Costa Rica tours. Cost is quoted per person.
Special arrangements can be made for you to meet the group if you do not want to stay for the entire trip.
If you have 10 or more interested in joining you, please contact us for a special price quote for the entire group.
If you are interested in joining your athlete on tour, you can set up a separate registration through the WeTravel link or join the booking of the athlete you are traveling with. Space is limited and subject to availbility and price changes. The closer we get to departure the less availability and the possibility of increased fares.

We look forward to having you on tour!
Our program is designed to give athletes the opportunity explore the world and learn about other cultures. Not only do you get to play a sport you love, you get to do it with others who share the same passion. Here are a few reasons to travel with AIST select teams:
We serve both the private and public school sector in search of long-term partnerships with reputable institutions such as these.
You can just sit back and take in all the sites. Our staff will handle all of your needs throughout the tour. We will check you into hotels quickly and easily, get you to your daily tours, show you the best places to see and give you the information you need while traveling abroad.
We will always have someone from staff on tour with the group to manage all aspects of the trip. As a coach or group leader, you will not have to worry with any of the logistics of the tour and you will benefit from the expertise of our guides during tour.
You are welcome to contact us at the office by email or phone to discuss any tour options you would like. You can also speak with individuals who have traveled with us in the past for references.
The following is not included with most tours: lunches (some tours do include lunch), tip for bus drivers and escorts (customarily $4 per day), personal items and drinks with dinners, airline fuel surcharges, baggage fees, Covid testing if needed, connecting airline tickets to meet the group for international flights, laundry, trip insurance and everything not listed on the tour inclusions section of your invitation. Sight seeing listed as optional on itineraries is also not included.
This will depend on what tour you are traveling on. All of our tours include the price of airfare, hotel accommodations 3 and 4 star, breakfast, transportation, some sightseeing, tournament and game fees, guides and tour managers. We also have ground tour packages which do not include airfare if you would like to purchase a separate airline ticket.
All of our International destinations require a passport for travel. Please click here to see how to apply for your passport. It could take up to two months to process a passport, be sure to plan accordingly. Visa’s are required for some citizens to travel to certain countries. Make sure you have a visa if needed.
Most of the teams that enter the tournaments are going to be fairly strong. With our select teams, most of the time we will find ourselves in the championship games but we do have to play well to get there. This also depends on what sport you are traveling with. Some countries are stronger than others and this goes for the USA as well. You will not be disappointed with the level of competition.
We select our players by doing extensive research through statistics posted on the web from previous seasons. We also work with several coaches for recommendations to find the top players to join our teams. We recruit for our collegiate teams from all levels of college. Combining players from all over the USA makes the experience more enjoyable as you will meet people from many different backgrounds. Players will come from all over the USA, Canada and other countries as well. You do not have to be a US citizen to travel with our select teams.
We have a very effective fundraising opportunity for every player who joins our select teams. A fundraiser letter with your name on it will be sent to you so that you can request donations from your friends and family. With the support of your friends and family you can possibly cut the cost of your tour down by 50%. Other fundraising ideas including camps for kids, golf tournaments, basketball tournaments and much more are a few ways that will help to generate a large sum of the cost for you. More information on fundraising is available in your invitation.
There are a few ways you can get selected for our teams. We are always looking to find good people to represent our program as well as the USA. We have several recruiters throughout the country that will nominate players that are top athletes. We find many of our athletes online based on stats posted by the governing body such as NCAA or NAIA. Collegiate and high school coaches will also recommend players for our program. For our select teams we want to put the best team on the field but we also strive to represent the USA with class and honor. You may have seen AIST recruiters at try-out events, showcase tournaments or other large team tournaments as well.
