Sutherland’s tenure as Head Coach of Green Bay has been marked by consistent excellence and record-breaking achievements. She led the Phoenix to their second NCAA First Round appearance during her debut season in 2018, with a 20-11 record. Several players earned major Horizon League accolades under her guidance, including Player of the Year and Setter of the Year.
Her success continued in 2019, with Green Bay achieving a historic win over Ohio State, the program’s first over a Power Five school since 2015. The team also ended the season ranked 45th in the NCAA RPI, the highest in program history.
Before Green Bay, Sutherland led UW-Stevens Point to consecutive NCAA Final Fours and multiple NCAA Tournament appearances, amassing a remarkable 146-36 record. She also coached the team to its deepest NCAA Tournament run in program history in 2013, with a 35-5 record.
At Southern Miss, she transitioned from assistant to head coach, earning a 19-12 record in her first season and achieving the program’s third consecutive AVCA Team Academic Award during her tenure.
As a standout at St. Norbert College, Sutherland recorded 4,554 assists, 1,503 digs, and 128 aces, helping the team secure a Midwest Conference title and an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2002.
