Deena Applebury – Head Women’s Basketball Coach
Deena Applebury has built one of the most successful NCAA Division III women’s basketball programs in the country at the University of Mary Washington, ranking 11th all-time in NCAA history in career winning percentage across all divisions.
A two-time WBCA Region Coach of the Year and the 2006-07 Russell Athletic/WBCA National Coach of the Year, Applebury has led UMW to multiple NCAA Tournament appearances, including two Elite Eight trips and a Final Four run. Under her leadership, the Eagles have claimed several CAC championships and over 18 consecutive winning seasons.
Applebury has been recognized with numerous coaching honors, including CAC, VaSID, D3Hoops.com, and Richmond Times-Dispatch State Coach of the Year awards.
A native of Versailles, Missouri, and a former standout player at UM-St. Louis, Applebury continues to be a driving force in NCAA Division III basketball.
